Best of India

India is a unique country which is so diverse that it often perplexed visitors. This country is blessed with geographic and socio-cultural diversity. This is a country where you will find lofty mountain peaks of Himalayas in north; vast stretch of Indian Ocean in south, old craggy mountains in center, arid sand desert in the west; pristine unexplored hills of northeast, river plains in the central India and many more geographic landscapes. India is therefore one of the very few countries with such a diverse geography. India is also blessed with an equally diverse culture. Each culture of India has distinct way of life, language, food habits, arts, dressing style, aspirations and traits. Best way to reach India is by Air. Regular international flights connect Indian cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmadabad and Trivandrum. Entire India is well connected by the Indian Railway network so travelling from one city to another city is much easier. Flights from Europe and US are now growing each year. Visit to Taj Mahal

With the tragic end of Mumtaz, the favourite queen of Emperor Shah Jahan, began the eminent architectural history of India. Last wish of Mumtaz to the emperor was for a symbol or a monument to their love. Emperor vowed to build a monument that the world had never seen and commissioned this magnificent tomb adorned with carvings, beautiful stones, gems, corals and garnets. The resting place of Mumtaz was decorated with precious stones to crown the queen. He also stated that after his death, his body would rest with Mumtaz. The tomb was artistically visible from Shah Jahan’s private palace (Agra Fort). It took 22 years, 22000 workers and around 32 million of Mughal treasury to complete this wondrous mausoleum and is still acclaimed for its beauty and not to miss the love- story behind it. This epitome of love and dedication is the standing example of leaving your eyes spell bound and your heart captivated forever.

Half Day Agra City Tour

Agra was chosen by the Mughal emperors as their capital during the early years. Babur, the founder of Mughal dynasty laid out the first Persian garden alongside river Yamuna where his grandson, Akbar, further raised the magnificent Red Fort (also known as Agra Fort). Adding to the family heritage, Jahangir, son of Akbar, built red- stone palaces, courts and beautiful wide gardens. Shah Jahan then embellished it with marble mosques, palaces and domes of white marble adorned with gems. Agra is globally renowned as the city of Taj Mahal and carries great importance in history. We take you to a half day city tour of this historic city that represents India to the world.

Half day tour of Fatehpur Sikri

The richest period of history is attributed to the Mughal period which introduced new royalty, etiquettes, style, standard and beauty in their era which is still unique and acknowledged. Agra and Fatehpur Sikri were the blessed regions with Mughal rule and it still evokes nostalgia of history amongst Indians. Fatehpur Sikri is known for its architectural wonder not only in India but internationally too. It attracts thousands of tourists worldwide on a daily basis to witness the aura and royalty of sprawling ancient city.
It is said that when Akbar was in search of his heir, he came to visit the Sufi saint, Salim Chisti who lived in Sikri area. The saint foretold Akbar about his son which actually came true. Akbar named his son Salim after the saint who grown up to become renowned emperor Jahangir. Akbar went to Sikri and started to build an architectural wonder town known as Fatehabad which was later known to be Fatehpur Sikri. Today it is one of the major tourist attractions and has rightly earned the status of a world heritage site under UNESCO.

Full day Agra city tour

A trip to Agra cannot be planned without Taj. Rather we go to Agra because of Taj! This spectacular seventh wonder of the world and a UNESCO world heritage site was built by Shah Jahan as a memorial to his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal took almost 22 years to complete and about 22,000 workers! We will then visit the magnificent Agra Fort. It was built by Akbar during his reign and continued to the time of Shah Jahan. This huge red stone monument stretches for around 2.5kms, giving a spectacular view of Taj Mahal. Next would be the visit to Itmad-Ud-Daula. Known as ‘Baby Taj’, it was the first Mughal structure built in marble by Nur Jahan for her parents. Also, we would visit Sikandra, the tomb of The Great Akbar. The construction of the tomb of Sikandra Fort was started by Akbar himself and Emperor Jehangir continued it after Akbar which ultimately led to the foundation of Sikandra Fort.

Agra city tour with Fatehpur Sikri

How-much-so-ever beautiful pictures you may have seen of Taj but it is nothing compared to when seen in reality. And what better would be the start of the day than to see the epitome of love at the start of the day! Watch the sun rise over the magnificent Taj Mahal. A mausoleum built by Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, the aura of this structure is unmatched to any other in the world. Apart from this marvel in white stone and beautiful wide spread gardens see the brilliance of the construction. You would have to leave the place but you would surely wish to come back here again. Next stop would be Agra Fort. You would enter an era when Agra was capital of Mughal Empire. It would be no surprise if its grand courtyards, royal pavilions and palaces would keep your eyes and mouth open with wonder. It’s a magnificent fort with around 16 palaces and is a fitting testimony to the great Mughals- Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan. Final stop would be at Fatehpur Sikri, just 35 kms away from Agra. This deserted ghost city was once the court and residence of Akbar, though for a short while. Visit Pachchisi where the Emperor played chess using slave girls as figurines. If time permits, you should also see Itmad-ud-Daulah. It was the first Mughal building in white marble where precious stones were used. It was built before Taj Mahal by Nur Jahan, queen of Jehangir, for her parents.
